Wire EDM cutting

Wire electrical discharge cutting creates edges in a conductive metal workpiece by precisely moving a tensioned wire electrode along a programmed path. Modern programming technology allows accurate calculation not only of the travel direction but also of wire tilt angles relative to all three Cartesian axes.

This enables production of parts with complex geometries — including straight-tooth involute conical gears, single-piece spline bores, and more. An undeniable advantage of this forming process is the ability to machine parts from ultra-hard materials (for example, carbide cutting tool inserts).

Copy die-sinking electrical discharge machine

Die-sinking EDM is used to produce volumetric curved surfaces of complex shape that replicate a pre-made electrode in metal where conventional machining is not feasible — small-diameter holes of approximately 1 mm and less, narrow slots, removal of broken taps and drills from deep holes.

The key advantage of die-sinking is the ability to perform these operations in metal of unlimited hardness — stainless steels, titanium, heat-resistant and hard alloys. This process is essential in fuel system components where holes must meet stringent requirements for accuracy, surface finish, and straightness.
